Call for Cast

The overarching script for this year's Disenchanted Forest is developing well
and it will be different again.  Our calculations result in some 40 people on
site for each night with some of them in the woods pretending to be anything
other than human, others as behind the scenes and also up top where we
shall have food for sale and activities to entertain patrons while they wait their
turn.  If you would like to take a part please check your availability for the dates;
Friday 28th - Monday 31st October (and a full dress rehearsal on Thursday
27th to which we expect to invite families of those involved) then contact us and
we will work together to develop a role for you. Activities in the Forest are not
scripted so much as motivated by the needs of the entire trail so some
characters are guides, others are storytellers and others, well, they just scare
people.
If you are keen but not available for all four nights please feel invited to job-share
a role; ideally find a friend who can swap in for you..
You do not have to be part of the construction to be a performer, although
appreciation does offer first choice to those who are.

Call For Crew

Work on the third Disenchanted Forest site has started. If you have already had the fun of
attending the event previously you might like to help us put on this next one.  This is
essentially divided up between the four departments of (Site Management, Lighting,
Production Design and Special Effects) and there are plenty of jobs to be done in all of
them.  If you are able to use a shovel, push a wheelbarrow, build a prop, blow up a
balloon, paint a box, dig a grave, build a cave, rake a path, climb a ladder or even carry
a cable you can help us out. Working bees tend to be at weekends after which we gather
round a bonfire for a cook-up. It does help to know who is coming so that we have enough
food and can plan the jobs around the skills that are anticipated.  However, if you would
prefer and could spare even a couple of hours mid-week then we would be equally grateful.
You do not have to be a performer to help to make it happen.

The overarching script for this year's Disenchanted Forest is developing well and we are certain of a significant growth from last year.
Our calculations result in some 20 people on site for each night with most of them in the woods pretending to be anything other than human.
If you would like to take a part please check your availability for the dates (there will be a rehearsal or two in the preceding weeks) then contact us and we will work together to develop a role. Activities in the Forest are not scripted so much as motivated by the needs of the entire trail so some characters are guides, others are storytellers and others, well, they just scare people ... If you are keen but not available for all four nights please feel invited to job-share a role; find a friend who can swap in for you and develop.
You do not have to be part of the construction to be a performer, although appreciation does offer first choice to those who are.

Call for a Production Meeting

There will be a production meeting on site this Saturday 2nd October. We can either have the meeting at 2pm after which new comers can take a tour to get up to speed with the design and the jobs that need to be done or we can have the meeting at 7pm after the working bee prior to lighting the fire for the cook up & lighting the trail in the dark.
Please let us know if you can help by volunteering to get the site ready and/or by being there on the Disenchanted nights.
Please let us know if you intend to be at the production meeting and whether you have a preference for the afternoon or evening. (and indeed if you intend to do some jobs that day and/or stay for a barbecue.
The Disenchanted Forest website will have details of organised working bees and if you use facebook please join our fan page where you can receive invites to all Disenchanted Events (working bees, Disenchanted Organising Group (DOG) meetings, fundraising gigs etc.
Otherwise we can be contacted on our mobiles:
Walter (Lighting) 07511 242 360
Kieran (Special Effects) 07770 529 353
Stevie (Production Design) 07756 399 255
